National Truth and Reconciliation Day - Sept 30.

Waskada School will recognize National Truth and Reconciliation Day on Sept 29. Please wear an orange shirt!

Please follow for more updates as classes will do more learning and sharing!

On Sept 29,  our school hung small orange shirts in the uptown gazebo. On each shirt, students wrote what they could do to help reconciliation. Answers included:

There were so many great conversations and learning this National Truth and Reconciliation Day!

We also took up our sign which included information about what National Truth and Reconciliation Day is, what happened in residential schools, what reconciliation is, and what we can do to help reconciliation for the public to read and learn alongside us. Thank you to the town of Waskada for letting us use this space!

Kindness Tree

We have launched our kindness tree to recognize the outstanding acts of kindness and good our students do on a day to day basis. Teachers will add students' names to the tree as the month unfolds, and two students will be drawn at the end of the month to win a prize.

Congarats to Marlie and Mason! They were the winners of September's kindness draw! Keep up the great work you guys!
